The Mount Nelson Hotel was painted pink in 1918 – to commemorate the end of the Great War. It remains that colour to this day. The building was first opened as a hotel in 1899 and has had many distinguished guests over the years – from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and King Edward Vlll to Winston Churchill and John Lennon.

It’s a luxury hotel with an atmosphere of times gone by – yet the hotel has every modern amenity.
