Within walking distance of Central Park, the Empire State Building, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and just about everywhere you want to visit in New York, sits the fabulous High Line Hotel. The building is splendid, the rooms are gorgeous and the amenities you can enjoy there are second to none.

The suites at the High Line (which are larger than my entire apartment) are – like the rest of the hotel – feature decor details that are thoughtful, luxurious and just a little quirky.

This Victorian-era building was originally a seminary- an educational establishment for those wishing to follow a career in theology – and was the place where Clement Clarke Moore wrote ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. This is reflected in the fact that rooms at the hotel have desks, many with vintage typewriters.

WHERE TO STAY IN NEW YORK WITH YOUR DOG

Yes, the High Line Hotel is happy to accommodate your dog when you’re staying there. (They have also housed cats that have been travelling with their owners) and there is NO extra charge for taking your pet with you. In fact, your pet will be treated as a valued guest with suitable amenities.

BIKING AND WALKING

The hotel even has bikes (and helmets) which you are free to use and the neighbourhood is walking- and cycling-friendly. A particular attraction is the High Line linear park. Check out the map below.
