Travel down a narrow lane from the village of Bantham in South Devon and you’ll find yourself at Bantham Beach – popular with surfers and families. This secluded beach is the home of the Gastrobus – and the food, music and events it offers.

The village and the beach are privately-owned (but completely open to the public) and when the beach grew in popularity, it became clear that there was a need for some way to supply them with refreshments. However, the owners were reluctant to have a permanent café.

So it seemed that a food truck would be the best of all worlds and hence the Gastrobus was born. The service has now been extended to include two vintage Citroen trucks which vimeans that the service is now extended to nearby  Thurlestone Beach. The Gastrobuses provide fresh, specialty foods and delicious treats.

The Gastrobus holds various special events – on of the most popular being their summer Saturday Thai Curry Nights.
