Located almost midway between Sydney and Brisbane, Bellingen Lemon Myrtle Farm offers visitors to Australia a unique experience. This rustic, off-the-grid cabin offers an opportunity to get away from it all but with a lively historic town just a few minutes away,

The cabin is situated on a working farm but you’ll find more than just sheep. The owners grow lemon and aniseed myrtle trees from which they make essential oils to use in their artisan soaps. They make jams from their homegrown plums and cordial from their berries. You’ll be glad to know that all their products are for sale, too.

This is a wonderful chance for a family to get away to spend quality time together. The kids will love swimming, enjoying the farm and the cosy bunk beds and their parents will enjoy the views, the splendidly peaceful verandah and the fact that that there’s no internet to distract the young ones.

The cabin is located right on a billabong (see the photographs below) and is only a short drive from the coast.

MEET YOUR HOST

2016-10-06_1415Shani lives just five minutes away from your cabin so is right there on hand if you need anything.

There are kayaks available for your use and a flat bottomed boat for fishing. The cabin has solar power but nevertheless has a well-equipped kitchen.

Don’t expect luxuries such as a dishwasher or electric stove – you have the chance to experience a real wood-burning pizza oven.

Kids and adults alike love this place. It’s a true experience for all the family.

Guests rave about the accommodation, the area and their hosts as you can tell from the online reviews.
