September 24th, 2016 saw the opening of the long-awaited National Museum of African American History and if I had a crystal ball, I’m sure that it would tell me that this will be one of the most visited museums in the United States.
The museum contains artifacts from those distant days of slavery and follows the timeline of African Americans up to the inauguration of the United States first non-white president, Barack Obama. It catalogues the astonishing – and vital – changes in the country.
The museum will be constantly evolving. They have artifacts available in careful storage which will be rolled out over the years.
