Here’s a vacation idea that is truly something different – yet inexpensive. Very few vistors from overseas venture far into the country of Wales when they are visiting the UK and this is such a shame because it’s a very attractive country.

Wales, although it is part of the United Kingdom has its own language, its own culture and even its own cuisine. You can experience them all when you stay in this charming original shepherd’s hut.

As you can see from the photographs, the hut has been extensively modernised – it even has wifi – and tastefully decorated to give it a cosy, country feel.

If you check out the photographs below (they enlarge if you click on them) you’ll see that the shepherd’s hut is set in its own private garden that is beautifully maintained and has comfortable outdoor furniture and even a gas barbecue.

The hut sleeps two people and is perfect for a cosy, romantic reteat. Imagine getting yourselves a glass of wine and cuddling up in front of the woodburning stove – a wonderfully peaceful vacation in fabulous scenery.

See more here.

The hut has been decorated and fitted out so very cleverly to make the most of such a small space. Notice for example, the way that the narrow shelf has been fitted on the wall by the bed. That’s the perfect space for a glass of water, your book and your phone. There’s no need for a nightstand.

And the person who sleeps on the other side of the bed can use the shelf below the hanging space as their nightstand – for spectacles, tissues and their Kindle.

Note too the storage under the bed – that looks to be just about the right size for your luggage. The hanging storage and the wall mounted TV are just right too.

I like the drop-down table with the folding stool. One person would use the stool and another sit on the bed – a perfect place for dining or to use as a workspace.

The kitchen is just the right size to cook for two people and did you notice the plate rack?

Very clever, very cute and a lovely place for a relaxing vacation!
