In a very clever marketing move, Audi has partnered with Airbnb to provide the ultimate driving and accommodation experience.
It was announced in September 2016 that guests could rent a fabulous Mid Century Modern styled home in Scotty’s Junction in the Nevada desert. Not only do the four guests get a luxurious place to stay, with meals cooked by a personal chef, there is also a driving experience provided by Audi.
At time of writing, this offer is only available during October 2016 and guests must book for a two night / three day stay.
The car manufacturer is promoting its latest model, the 200 mph plus R8 V10, and Airbnb seems to be a natural match for this unusual experience.
Guests can drive the car with the added benefit of having a professional instructor to help them get the most out of the high performance vehicle and driving on the dry lake bed. See the screenshot below from the Airbnb website.
The car is powered by a 610-hp V10 engine, hence the price of $610 per night. As four people can stay in the home and take part in the driving activities, this is a incredible bargain per person. An Audi Q7 is also available for guests to use during their stay.
The Airbnb listing says that any guests taking advantage of this offer must agree that their details may be used by Audi for promotional purposes – it’s expected that this will be via social media. What a fantastic marketing venture.
We regular hosts with our humble apartments and private rooms work hard to provide our guests with a memorable experience but I don’t think that any of us can compete with this one 🙂
