Edinburgh is justly popular as a travel destination. It is a sophisticated city with a huge amount of history and there’s so much for the tourist to see and do. But did you know about its hidden side?
The area was first inhabited over 10,000 years ago and was occupied by the Romans more than 2,000 years ago so it’s only to be expected that there are a few lost spirits wandering around – so why not experience a tour of the hidden and haunted Edinburgh?
What’s more, the tours are arranged and organised by Virgin and Richard Branson hardly does things by halves! Even your guide is sinister – he will show you round the hidden vaults of Edinburgh while concealed in a swirling cloak. You’ll visit the candlelit underground area and hear gruesome tales of executions, murders, treason and plots.
The tour takes place in the evening and can be very scary so it’s not recommended for the under-sixteens – and you might want a bracing glass of Scotch after the event!
