I’ve always loved Barcelona and if you want to stay there in style – in a wonderful historic building – then you’ll want to take a look at the Cotton House Hotel. You’ll see photographs and a video below.

It’s certainly a luxury hotel and the staff – as you’ll see in the video – seem to be suitably bonkers. But something I particularly love is the history of the place. In the nineteenth century it housed the sumptuous headquarters of the Cotton Textile Foundation (Fundación Textil Algodonera).

The building has been immaculately restored and the hotel features many truly original elements features including a spiral staircase that is not anchored to the ground but is suspended from a metal framework at the top of the building.

The guest facilities have been created in recent years however as the hotel first opened its doors as recently as 2015. Guests can enjoy the traditionally-styled library, a gym & spa, outdoor pool and a gorgeous terrace that’s accessed from the hotel’s restaurant and bar.

The Cotton House Hotel even has experiences to enhance your stay including a heritage tour, a style experience, even bespoke shirt tailoring and the ability to drive a Mini Cabrio!
