It’s one of those debates that crops up from time to time – which do you prefer to drink, still water or fizzy water? Whichever you prefer, the fact remains that the bottled water industry is enormous (and regarded by some as something of a con.)

I can’t remember the last time I drank water from the tap – how crazy is that? Over the years we’ve been slowly conditioned to believe that tap water is bad and that we should keep our bodies well hydrated with water; expensive, bottled water though.

This means that we’re paying good money for something which, in a civilised society, should be one of our rights; good clean water to drink. And as we continue to buy bottled water we are adding to the resultant pollution and landfills created by those plastic bottles.

But now, when you visit Paris, you can drink sparkling water – free – from water fountains throughout the city.

In a perfect world, other cities would take note and we would all be able to enjoy clean, sparkling water wherever we travel.
