I’ve often extolled the benefits of travelling with a light shawl or sarong as these items are incredibly useful for the traveller, especially when you’re travelling in warmer climates.

But there is also a place for the travel wrap. And by this is mean lightweight versions that are specifically designed to be almost weightless and take up hardly any space in your luggage.

Created specifically for travel – and especially air travel – they are also surprisingly easy to launder and care for.

We’ve all read those internet articles and forums about how revolting airline blankets can be. Many airlines simply don’t offer passengers blankets anymore and even for those that do, we can never be sure when they were last laundered and what germs might lurk.

The obvious use for these, in addition to them being a fabulous fashion accessory, is to use them to keep warm while you’re on the plane. (And planes can get very chilly). You’ll also find that a travel wrap makes a great shawl to wear when you get to your destination if the evenings are a little chilly.

See the video for other ways to wear your travel wrap.
