There are lots of fabulous advantages of being a traveller in this day and age – even more so than ten or twenty years ago. Today we can go to places that at one time would have been seen only in books. And the Kanheri Caves are a great example.

The caves look more like something from a fairy tale or an eastern fable than somewhere we can actually visit.

The caves, looking more like a film set created by someone with a great imagination, were created thousands of years ago. Some areas were permanent monasteries. Some were for more general use – for religious ceremonies and gatherings.
